Gulberwick gets it's new brig

Beach Access Improved

With the new brig across the burn at the beach, new gates and a stile across the fence, access to the Gulberwick beach has been greatly improved.

When the burn is in spate it can be very difficult, if not dangerous, for children to try to cross and wellingtons are generally and universally required to cross the burn at most times of the year. This situation applies to the greater majority of the Gulberwick population so the new brig is likely to get well used - and the new self-closing gate should ensure easy access and that sheep stay where the farmer intended.

Shetland Amenity Trust in conjunction with Shetland Islands Council improved the beach access following the request initiated by Gulberwick Together.
