The Gulberwick Picnic 2011

Many Gulberwick families enjoyed a splendidly sociable and friendly afternoon at the fourth
Gulberwick picnic on the afternoon of Sunday 21st August.

A bright and sunny afternoon with just enough breeze to deter the midges and an ample supply of clean sand resulted in a splendid afternoon of fun and games.

Great imagination was applied to the design of the sand castles and constructions of an amazing variety, encouraged by the various category of prize. Each year the designs reach new heights and made the judging more challenging than ever.

The popular treasure hunt also expanded the search territory to find a range of materials and items. Unexpectedly, a fly-past of the coastguard helicopter generated a lot of interest and, after the games, a feast of picnic food with soft drinks and teas was served in the hall.

Gulberwick Together are grateful to everyone who helped to arrange the event, provided food and participated in another successful community event.
